What the Bible Actually Says

Romans 12:19 transfers the vengeance case to God specifically because he is the only perfectly competent judge. Ekdikesis (vengeance) belongs to him. Psalm 37:6 promises that obscured righteousness will be brought into noonday clarity — the Hebrew mishpat includes vindication of the wrongly treated. 1 Peter 2:23 describes Jesus' paredidou (active handing-over) of his case to the righteous judge under false charges. Genesis 50:20 is Joseph's summary of a lifetime of wrongful treatment — the evil was real, not minimized, and God worked through it toward a purpose not visible from the pit.

Scripture for This Season

> PE1 2:23 — "Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously."

> GEN 50:20 — "But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive."

> ISA 54:17 — "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD."
