Terms of Service

By creating an account or using the Hilaros service at hilarosecho.com, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Hilaros is operated by the Hilaros team. “Service” refers to the website, the daily email delivery system, and the user dashboard.

Hilaros is a Bible verse email subscription service. You choose a topic (e.g., “Anxiety & Worry”, “Grief”, “Hope”) and receive one King James Version (KJV) Bible verse each morning, along with optional commentary.

The KJV Bible is a public domain text (published 1611). Spurgeon's commentary is also in the public domain. Our original theological content and writing are owned by Hilaros.

• You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use this service.
• One person, one account. You may not share accounts.
• Authentication is handled by Clerk. By creating an account you also agree to Clerk's terms of service.

The Free plan allows you to subscribe to 1 topic and receive daily KJV verses at no cost for the first 2 months. No credit card is required to start.

We reserve the right to adjust plan limits with 30 days' notice to existing free users.

Paid plans (Basic and Pro) are billed monthly through Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan you agree to Stripe's terms of service.

• Free trial: Paid plans include a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged until the trial ends. You may cancel during the trial with no charge.
• Cancellation: You may cancel at any time from your dashboard. You will retain access until the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial months.
• Refunds: We offer a full refund within 7 days of your first charge if you are unsatisfied. Email us at support@hilarosecho.com to request one.
• Price changes:We will give existing subscribers 30 days' notice before any price increase takes effect.

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any illegal purpose.
• Attempt to access another user's account.
• Use automated tools to scrape or harvest content from our site.
• Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the service.
• Redistribute or resell our original theological content without permission.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Bible text is sourced from the King James Version (public domain). C.H. Spurgeon commentary is in the public domain.

Original content created by Hilaros — including theological introductions, deep study sections, verse explanations, and topic descriptions — is copyright © 2026 Hilaros. You may share individual Bible verses freely (they are public domain), but you may not reproduce our original written content without permission.

We aim to deliver your daily verse by 7:00 AM in your local timezone. Occasional delays may occur due to email delivery infrastructure, time zone edge cases, or service maintenance.

We do not guarantee 100% uptime. Hilaros is provided “as is” without warranty of uninterrupted availability. We will notify users of planned maintenance when possible.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hilaros is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

Hilaros provides Scripture and commentary for personal devotional use. It is not a substitute for pastoral counseling, mental health treatment, or medical advice. If you are in crisis, please contact a qualified professional or call a crisis helpline.

You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account. Deletion cancels any active subscription (no refund for the remaining billing period) and removes your personal data within 30 days.

We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes, we will email you at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.

These terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes will be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If that fails, disputes will be subject to binding arbitration.
